MOTION GRAPHIC - DON'T LET DUNSTABLE DIE

For this live brief we will be exploring story telling using digital media such as film and motion graphics. This media is often used for advertising and promotion and we will use it for the same. We will be promoting Dunstable in a way that will increase the footfall in the town center as it has been in decline for some time. Dunstable is home to a lot of empty shops units which shows business isn't good and the current footfall also isn't. This also looks derelict and run-down, and makes the town an eyesore and a non-stimulating place to shop. Our motion graphic must 'captivate' the community and make it appealing to shoppers again, which will increase the footfall. Before our final outcome we must research how and why Dunstable is in decline using a range of sources such as photography and interviewing shoppers/shopkeepers. We must also research motion graphics and learn how they are created. After our artist influenced design development, we will have a motion graphic that demonstrates the positives of increased footfall in Dunstable.

(We split into two groups for these activities, the first pictures show my groups work, then the next show the other groups)
To begin with, we mind-mapped areas we needed to look at or consider. This included primary and secondary research, music, and why Dunstable is in decline.

We then wrote down ideas that we feel would make Dunstable a better place and increase footfall. This included a general cleaner and newer look and more things to do like outdoor activities.

After, we analysed the grading criteria to ensure we understood what it meant and what we had to do to achieve merit and distinction grades in Units 4, 5 and 46.
